First International Tea Day Jiangsu Home Activity Held at Yada Yangxian Xishan

On the morning of May 23rd 2020, the First International Tea Day Activity was held at Yada Yangxian Xishan Culture & Art Center. Deputy Mayor of Yixing Municipal Government Mr. Zhou Feng attended the activity and delivered a speech. General Agronomist of Jiangsu Provincial Agriculture & Rural Affairs Department Mr. Tang Mingzhen gave a lecture at the activity. During the activity, Jiangsu 19th “Lu Yu Cup” Famous-Special Tea Appraisal Award Ceremony also successfully held. Specialty tea that won the grand prizes have been displayed at the activity. Yixing Tea Culture exhibition zone that displayed Yixing Tea Set Original Design Competition award-winning works and boutique tea tables with Yixing local culture feature has been established.

On November 27th 2019, the 74th United Nations General Assembly passed the resolution that every May 21st is identified as International Tea Day. This is the first international holiday in the agricultural field that China successfully promoted to set up, showing the world’s acceptance of Chinese tea culture. It benefits the interflow and mutual learning between China and other countries as well as drives the coordinated development of tea industry.

This activity was organized by Jiangsu Provincial Agriculture & Rural Affairs Department. Under the theme of “Tea and Beautiful Life”, it promotes tea industry’s healthy development, deepens the interflow and mutual learning of tea culture as well as makes more people to learn, love and taste tea for enjoying tea charm and wonderful life.

At the end of the activity, guests and leadership visited Yada Yangxian Xishan’s Town Center, Yada Academy and Wellness community. They praised the concept and practice of the Project for integrating good natural resources such as tea garden, bamboo sea, hills and waters into the design.
