Ecological Landscape Corridor Built at South Mountain Area of Yixing City

After nearly two months of construction, recently, the Yada Complex Line Greening Project has been completed and officially put into use. Yixing City has added a new ecological landscape corridor with a green area of about 100,000㎡.

Where is the Yada Complex Line Greening Project?

The project starts from the road near entrance of Mount Huaguoshan Farm in the north, and reaches Tang province road line & Longshan special home stay village road intersection in the south. It has a total length of about 5 kilometers and a total green area of about 100,000㎡.

How to Build the Project?

According to design plan, the Project mainly focuses on the theme of "Natural Ecology, Adapting to Local Conditions", highlights ecological effects, and constructs green belts with a width of about 10 meters on both sides of the road. In the overall landscape construction, the Project emphasizes combination of spatial layout, uses local tree species, reasonably arranges plant landscape communities, integrates with original environment of the road, and dedicates to the formation of road greening and natural ecological landscape. For example, in the bamboo forest area along the route, combined with the ecological environment of the bamboo forest, the Project mainly plants shade-tolerant and flowering groundcover plants. Lawns are planted in the foreground, and small plants with colored leaves are sporadically planted to enrich the landscape hierarchy and colors.

In addition, the Project construction also pays great attention to improving the greening quality. For example, four greening groups along the route are used alternately - Chinese Tallow Tree with Early Cherry Blossoms, Soapberry with Vertical Silk Begonias, Hackberry with Purple Magnolias, and Ulmus Parvifolia with Early Cherry Blossoms. The design fully embodies the comparison of seasonal changes, and further enriches the plant diversity.
