The Number of Medical Institutions Exceeds One Million in China

Recently, the National Health Commission Statistical Information Center released statistics on national medical related data from January to November last year. Up to the end of November 2018, the number of medical institutions nationwide has reached 1 million.

In the same period, the total number of medical visits reached 7.54 billion, a year-on-year increase of 3.2%. The average cost of outpatient in tertiary hospital was 319.2 yuan. Compared with the same period in 2017, the price rose by 4.9% in the current year and 2.8% at comparable prices. The per capita hospitalization cost of tertiary hospital was 1,3378.2 yuan, which was 1.9% higher than the same period in 2017, and decreased by 0.2% at comparable prices.
