The Reading Room is set up jointly by Gaochun Graceland and Gaochun Library. It is committed to be the reading space to enrich the spiritual and cultural life of residents from Graceland and communities around. It locates on the third floor of Lehuo Center on Graceland Commercial Street and enjoys quiet and comfortable environment with convenient location for Graceland residents. Now there are about 1000 books covering a range of Chinese and foreign literature, children’s books, biography, natural science and etc. Books will be updated regularly to meet ongoing reading demands of readers.
As the cultural facility of Gaochun Graceland, Graceland Reading Room holds varied kinds of theme cultural activities, offering the residents opportunities to learn, share and exchange and creating the spiritual and cultural atmosphere of helping each other.
On June 12th 2021, 1st Session of Gaochun Graceland Great Life Master Lecture was held at Graceland Reading Room. Photographer Mr. Zhou Xiaojun, Chinese ink painting painter Mr. Yanghua and self-driving tourist Ms. Li Xiaoping shared their understandings on good life.
On the afternoon of September 11th 2021, Gaochun Graceland held the 2nd Session of Great Life Mater Lecture at Graceland Reading Room successfully.Ms. Cheng Yuan, the English teacher of Nanjing No. 27 Middle School and the academic pacesetter of Nanjing, shared her feeling on English education and understanding on good life based on her thirty years' English teaching experience.
On the afternoon of December 19th 2021, the 3rd Session of Graceland Great Life Master was successfully held at Graceland Sharing Reading Room. Ms. Kong Liangyu, the associate member of Jiangsu Calligrapher's Association, the member of Nanjing Calligrapher's Association and the teacher of Graceland Lehos Calligraphy Course shared her understanding on calligraphy and seal cutting with neighbors.
On the afternoon of February 27th 2022, Gaochun Graceland 4th Session of Great Life Master Lecture was successfully held at Graceland Shared Reading Room. The principal of Gaochun District Graceland Kindergarten, the senior teacher, the educational inspector of Gaochun District kindergartens and the academic leader Ms. Xu Aiqin, shared her understanding based on her 24-year early childhood education experience.
On September 18th 2022, 5th Session of Gaochun Graceland Great Life Master was held at Graceland Sharing Reading Room successfully. Mr. Zhang Yueyong, one Graceland resident, a staff in the artillery regiment command of the 139th troop of the 47th Army of the Army Lanzhou Military Region during the Sino-Vietnamese War, shared his eventful years in Lao Mountain with neighbors.
The interior of the Reading Room employs a high-rise ceiling to add Chinese-style charm and comfort of the space. To create a lighting environment suitable for reading, it is equipped with many lighting facilities, such as spotlights and lamp belts. The interior decoration is simple but elegant. Wood bookracks in natural color and furniture in oat color make the space warm and comfortable.In the future, Gaochun Graceland will hold varied kinds of cultural activities, such as book club, talk salon, exhibition, lecture, recitation and etc., at the Reading Room. Here will be the place of residents for exchanges and sharing, which keeps enriching the content of Graceland’s culture and spirit.
