Yada Hospital Held “Healthy Life & Flu Prevention” Theme Lecture

On March 30th 2019, “Healthy Life & Flu Prevention” Theme Lecture was held at Wuzhen Graceland Health Promotion Hall by Zhejiang Yada International Rehabilitation Hospital. The lecture aims to popularize the knowledge on spring respiratory illness prevention among the elderly at Graceland and enhance their awareness of seasonal flu prevention.  Crowds of Graceland residents attended the lecture.

According to statistics, flu & pneumonia are the fifth cause of death for people over 65. Spring is a flu season. The elderly have weakened immune system and are susceptible to the flu. Mr. Mo Weiqiang, Director of Jiaxing Second Hospital Pneumology Department, gave a lecture covering the cause of flu, clinical symptom, susceptible population, transmission route, differences with the common cold and common drugs for flu. He explained these topics one by one and step by step.

In the lecture, Dr. Mo Weiqiang also gave advice on prevention and nursing service based on the elderly’s physical condition. He reminded the importance of air circulation, light diet and personal hygiene in spring. Proper fitness could improve disease resistance. For the elderly and the children whose immunity is low, he suggested them to have vaccinations before flu season.

After the lecture, Mr. Mo Weiqiang saw patients at Graceland Clinic. He helped the elderly of the community to know more about their own physical situation, and provided medical consultation and diagnosis to the elderly and residents in need.

Graceland Health Lecture is a monthly public activity of health propaganda and education. Targeting the elderly and their families, the activity provides varied kinds of knowledge related to the healthcare & wellness and diseases prevention & treatment. From April to December 2019, the lecture topics will cover treatment of spring allergy, osteoporosis, the elderly psychological health, autumn wellness and autumn-dryness disease prevention, cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases prevention and others related to the elderly health for helping them to establish a scientific health management concept. In 2019, Yada Hospital will organize two large-scale free clinics where multiple disciplinary experts provide diagnosis and treatment services to the elderly.
