On August 1st 2019, Wuzhen Graceland specially held the August 1st Army’s Day Army-Civilian Get-together Party to celebrate the 92nd Anniversary of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army. Officers and soldiers from Tongxiang Municipal PAP Squadron and the youth enlisted in the army were invited to attend the activity. Veteran living in Graceland and residents here had a memorial Army’s Day with these officers, soldiers and would-be soldiers together.
A soaring PLA anthem March of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army opened the Party. Officers and soldiers from Tongxiang Municipal PAP Squadron escorted the military flag into the hall. Director of Tongxiang Military Equipment Department Mr. Shen Guowei gave the opening speech.
Programs carefully choreographed by Wuzhen Graceland residents led the Party to a new high, including a male’s solo Cross Snow Mountain and Grassland, dances Alake so Blessed, Red Star on My Way to Fight and A Praise to Red-plum, song Yimeng Mountain Madrigal and etc.
Veterans living in Wuzhen Graceland also gave wonderful performance during the Party. Poetry recitation When Army’s Day is coming, songs Return from the Shooting Range, A Lifelong War Friendship and other programs won warm applause.
At the Party, the representatives of young men enlisted in the army expressed their idea and determination to serve and protect motherland.
They also sent red flowers to Graceland’s veterans respectfully. They expressed a strong desire to learn from predecessors, and to protect the peace of motherland with their youth and efforts.
Grandpa Mr. Lu living in Wuzhen Graceland also gave best wishes and encouragement to these young men who would start their military career. The Party came to the end in the chorus of Motherland Singing.
Now there are 38 veterans in Wuzhen Graceland. They come from different areas of China, like Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, Nanjing Military Region and Beijing Military Region. They were aided men and chemical warfare men of land force, submarine men in the navy, air force pilots and aerospace soldiers. Three of them attended the war to resist US aggression and aid Korea. Two of them are from the Central special aircraft force, one is the first female pilot since the foundation of CPC. Based on rich college life, Wuzhen Graceland is laying out a happy retirement life for the residents and veterans.
