Shenzhen SEZ Aged-care Service Regulation Issued to Promote Long-term Care Insurance

On November 8th, the high-profile Shenzhen Special Economic Zone Aged-care Service Regulation was published. As plan, the Regulation would be carried out on March 1st 2021 to provide legal guarantee for “Well-prepared Later Life” in Shenzhen. The highlight of this Regulation was to set up the long-term care insurance system. It was reported that the long-term care insurance would be collected in Shenzhen since October 1st 2021. The insurance would regarded to relieve the burden of families with the elderly and guarantee the nursing service for each elderly person. From it, Shenzhen residents would own the sixth social insurance following the insurances for aged-care, medicine, occupational injury, unemployment and maternity.
