Xishan Lantern Festival Celebration of Yangxian Spring Festival Activities Successfully Held

On February 26th, Xishan Lantern Festival Celebration of Yangxian Spring Festival Activities was successfully held at Town Center of Yada Yangxian Xishan by Yangxian Ecological Tourism Zone and Hufu Town Government.

The event included folk performance, cultural show and Lantern Festival Fair that created a Lantern Festival atmosphere full of joy and auspiciousness for local people and crowds of tourists.

Dragon and lion dance were the highlights of folk performance. It had the implied meaning of scaring away evil spirits and summoning good luck & fortune. With cheerful sound of gongs and drums, vivid dragon and lion dance reminded audience of Spring Festival taste as well as their memory on folklore and cultural feeling.

The cultural show was held at the Central Plaza of Town Center. It contained classic Chinese folk music, elegant dance and cheerful songs. Each performance was originally created based on the local features of Yixing. They showed good natural environment of southern Yixing mountain area and profound cultural background.  Meanwhile, they also pushed  festival atmosphere to a new high.

At the Lantern Festival Fair, there were varied kinds of local snacks and cultural creation products. Local residents and tourists could enjoy featured foods and experience folklore under the lanterns while wandering the Town Center.

During the event, the First “Most Beautiful Homestays” “Recommended Homestays” and Yangxian Homestay Photography Competition Outstanding Works Award Ceremony were held. The awards were used to cite practitioners for constructing the tourism industry in southern Yixing mountain area.

This Spring Festival of Ox Year was the first lunar new year that Yada Yangxian Xishan residents spent here after delivery. During the Festival, Yada Yangxian Xishan organized many cultural activities to enrich the residents’ life. Meanwhile, it also cooperated with Yangxian Ecological Tourism Zone to hold large-scale folk events for promoting the development of tourism economy in southern Yixing mountain area.
