Wuzhen Graceland Held “Joyful Dragon Boat Festival” Theme Activity

During the Dragon Boat Festival holiday in Year of Xin Chou, Wuzhen Graceland held the “Joyful Dragon Boat Festival” theme activity to celebrate the holiday.

The activity lasted three days, including abundant contents such as custom games, handicraft experience, club performance and movie showing. That brought strong festival atmosphere to residents.

On June 12th, Dragon Boat Festival event began with the Movie Time at Yile Lecture Hall. Graceland staff selected nine classic movies. Residents could watch from June 12th to 14th.

On June 13th, the Festival Custom Experience Activity officially began at Yada Life Bookstore. It offered an opportunity for Graceland residents to closely experience many festival featured customs and understand the cultural connotation of the traditional festival, such as dotting a cinnabar spot on the face, picturing the forehead, wearing perfume satchel and Han Chinese clothing and tasting zongzi.

In addition to custom experience, the event also had varied kinds of interactive games, including ring toss, pitch pot, fishing zongzi and Angry Birds. Residents at different age groups could find entertainment they were interested in and feel the joyful atmosphere of the festival. Moreover, interactive games made chances for family members and neighbors to communicate and know each other, enhancing the community harmony

Many residents were attracted into the culture classroom to transcribe Confucian classics or recite poems. Sending Dragon Boat Festival wishes by writings or poems was not only the delivery of good blessing, but also the successions of etiquette and culture.

On the afternoon of June 14th, the day of Dragon Boat Festival, handicraft experience classes were held. Under the guidance of teachers, residents made Dragon Boat Festival perfume satchels, archaistic hairpins, dry-flower moon-shaped fans, aromatherapy candles and painting on ceramics, feeling the charm of ancient Chinese culture and aesthetics.

Dragon Boat Festival Celebration is one of the most important events at Wuzhen Graceland as well as a classic moment for neighborhoods to gather and share their good life experience.
