Gaochun Graceland Held “Neighborhood Life Festival”

From April 30th to May 2nd, Graceland Neighborhood Life Festival was held for a funny, interesting and delicious party. Graceland family members like friends spent a happy time together.

A Feast Held and Shared by Neighbors

In this April, Phase II of Graceland was delivered. More than 1000 households have been delivered till now. Our friendly, healthy, active and harmonious community was developed well.

The 2nd Graceland Neighborhood Life Festival was also better based on the goods fair in last year. It adds many new games and experience projects, such as trendy goods, yummy food and games for children.

Residents and merchants in Graceland become vendors to sell their “treasure” goods.

Every booth is filled with beautiful things, from DIY handmaking crafts, souvenir collected from different regions of China, private featured snacks to popular beverage. It has been a one-stop venue for neighbors to eat, drink, play and entertain.

The Festival, from preparation and booth layout to the present of each activity, was organized and set up by these vendors. Everyone shared his/her wisdom to create the neighborhood feast.

First social experience with significance

Who has the highest expectation to the Festival? Our little vendors. On the day, many little vendors arrived at the site very early to arrange goods, decorate their booth and cry like an adult.

Quirky little vendors made their deal very formally. They learned from the adult to bargain and shared their favorite toys with new friends. From time to time, they “stole” business from the next vendor, very interesting.

A little vendor who was the first to apply for the Fair earned her first income in her life – 25 yuan and used the income to buy an ice cream. She even invited her parents to choose their gifts generously in the fair. She would pay!

On the Neighbor Stage, little vendors were brave to show their performance. Wonderful dance won a round of applause burst out.

This is a significant first social experience. Here, the courage of these children was encouraged. They even felt the happiness of creating values.

Sense of Ceremony, Routine of Graceland Life

For Graceland residents, Neighborhood Life Festival is a stage, a party and an entertainment time for both the elderly and the children. The gathering enhances the neighborhood and connection.

The childishness was promoted when children play in the tents. They gained happiness when playing dart boards, building block table and throwing balls. The Festival has become a venue to “walk” children downstairs in the home.

Residents back from the downtown came to the Festival at the first time even they did not have the lunch. She said, it had become her habit to join in festival activities at every time when she was back during holiday.

A grandfather in his 80s bought an iced lobster to enjoy with family members. On the second day, he could not stop returning back to purchase again. According to him, while exercising downstairs, I could enjoy delicious food. What a happy life!

It was not proper to go far for it was in a special period. Feeling good festival atmosphere downstairs in the home has been the daily life of Graceland residents earlier.

Madam Chen applied for the volunteer in successive two years. She was busy on the site and got good praise from neighbors while making many new friends.

Every gathering is a stage for neighbors to deliver kindness and warmth. The neighborhood has been improved step by step. Even in a common day, it could create uncommon memory.

The annual Neighborhood Life Festival ended. Warm and creative tent fair and wonderful stage performance … good life in Graceland is going on. During every May Day holiday, the Festival welcomes you join in.
