Yada Theater Invited to Yuanye Awards

On June 16th, General Architect of goa Mr. Xu Qi was invited to attend Yuanye Awards International Architectural Design Sharing Meeting VI. He shared the design concept and practice of Yada Theater with global excellent architects and enthusiasts.

Locating in Yixing Yangxian Ecotourism Resort of Jiangsu Province, Yada Theater was embraced by abundant natural and cultural resources. The design team aimed to create a culture landmark of the time in the nature and realize the good wish connecting man, nature and art. By asking “what mountains and men need”, the speech provoked the audience to think. How does the architecture enter into a place? What kind of life scene will it offer to the communities around?

The plan was a deep exploration on how architects deal with the relationship between manmade building and nature and make the building to feedback the surrounding communities. The completed Theater is not an “enclosed box”. With an open stance, it creates more possibilities of cultural living. The hall with 530 seats is able to transform from the open stage to the picture-frame stage, meeting different various kinds of cultural activities, such as concert and opera. During performance, the building is like the dance under the spot light. Without performance, it becomes a viewer to watch man and nature.

During the interaction, Mr. Xu Qin further discussed the relationship between architecture and environment, and explained the locality in design. The façade material was grey green ceramic plate rich in local characteristics. The color changed subtly in the sun. Bamboo-shaped longitudinal texture and collage methods creates rich surface sequence, creating moved expression of progressive scene from far to near.  

Yuanye Awards International Architectural Design Sharing Meeting began in 2010. It is committed to create a industrial competition with deepest thinking and greatest influence. It finds and awards excellent development, design and construction works, enhances the creativity and influence of designers all over the world, and promotes the industrial exchange and development.
