Gaochun Graceland | 2nd Session of “Science and Juveniles” Series Activities Held Successfully

On the afternoon of August 7th, 2nd Session of Science and Juveniles Series Activities with the theme of “Journey to Moon” was held successfully at the functional hall of Lohas Center at Gaochun Graceland. The Activity was organized by Jiangsu Children’s Digital Library and hosted jointly by Gaochun District Library and Lohas Service Center of Gaochun Graceland. With tutors and parents, more than 30 little readers began their moon exploration plan to explore the charming universe and feel the power of our nation.



At the beginning, the teacher led children to image the moon by raise questions on poems and myths and legends related to moon, further extended to Q&A on the moon’s knowledge, such as the origin, colors and size, stimulating their interest. All participants actively gave their idea. The Activity atmosphere was very lively.



Teachers played video for children and gave explanation. The filmlet “How the Moon formed” made children clearly to know the origin of the Moon. The short video on the 16-year Chang’e Project with the name of “Clasp the Moon in the Ninth Heaven” introduced the three phases of the lunar exploration program in China and the influence of related technology development to our daily life, such as frozen dehydrated vegetable, astronauts’ checkup hinting addition of fatty acids in milk powder and etc., deepening children’s understanding on lunar exploration program in a systematic manner.



Teach through lively activities. Practice operational ability. At the end of the Activity, with the guidance and help of teachers and parents, children set up Chang’e III explore modeling, learn its structure and had joyful interaction.



From vast universe to subtle daily life, the development of science and technology is closely related to us. Based on this, students’ dream on science, patriotism and national pride were nourished fully.


In the future, Gaochun Graceland will do our utmost to introduce diversified and wonderful scientific and cultural experience to residents and add more colors to children’s growth.
