On the afternoon of December 2nd, Partner of GMP (Architekten von Gerkan Marg und Partner) Mr. Stephan Schütz visited YaDa International’s headquarters again and demonstrated the revised conceptual design for Wuzhen Rehabilitation Hospital. The Chairman and President of YaDa International Mr. Jiang Jianning, Vice Presidents Mr. Zhou Jianping and Ms. Gao Xiang, Board Member of Leader Rehabilitation Hospital Mr. Markus Fehr attended the meeting. Upon reviewing and discussion of the revised design, the participants agreed on the next steps.
Mr. Stephan Schütz first reviewed the evolution of scheme design. Based on the opinions of all sides on the initial plan, GMP made a comprehensive comparison of newly designed schemes, and finally worked out the updated version that realized the rationality of function layout and land use. The revised plan continued to adopt the modular arrangement which easily embodied the compartmental requirement and functional divisions. The stagger layout design helped patients with more joyce and garden-like feeling.
The principals of YaDa International’s Project Management Dept. communicated with Mr. Stephan Schütz on the design style, demand fulfillment and daily maintenance of Rehabilitation Hospital. They hoped the design scheme could take three elements into consideration during the optimization process: the southern climate, flow of patients for diverse demands and cost of construction. With human-centered design and integration with local landscape, Wuzhen Medical Park was expected to have a different impression from ordinary hospitals.
Mr. Jiang Jianning said the revised scheme had much improvement from the initial one. He thought the interactive exchange helped the architect understand customer’s voice and sparked inspiration. Mr. Jiang Jianning suggested three modifications for the current design. He believed GMP could work out a satisfactory result with more time and energy input.
Finally, the attending parties made a discussion on the next work schedule and business negotiation.
