NHFPC Issues New Regulations on Public Hospital

The Notice on Consolidating the Results of Breaking Drug-Maintaining-Medicine Mechanism and Continuously Deepening the Comprehensive Reform of Public Hospitals has been issued recently by National Health and Family Planning Commission （NHFPC）and a series of new measures have been taken out. The following points should be highlighted. First, cancel all public hospitals' drug price addition to subsidize the ones in large population and poor counties. Second, public hospitals at all levels should have clear functional positioning. Third, the 10% socially-run medical non-public hospitals have to return to public welfare. Fourth, all levels government should specially support the developmet of paediatric and maternity hospitals. Fifth, medical charge controlling should base on the positioning of public hospitals at all levels.
