Wuzhen Yada IHEP Held Dragon Boat Festival Series Activities

On June 7th 2019, also the Lunar May 5th and Dragon Boat Festival, zones of Wuzhen Yada International Health Ecological Park (IHEP) held varied kinds of festival activities respectively. Residents and the elderly in the Park enjoyed cultural taste of the Chinese traditional festival together.

By the side of Baima Lake of Wuzhen Graceland, the crowded people were attending the Graceland Dragon Boat Festival Activities. Children transcribed the Three-Character Classic with a writing brush to feel the power of traditional culture. People put traditional Chinese herb liquid by wormwood branch on hands, forehead and neck for antibacterial and anti-worms as a wish to family’s health. More traditional activities such as forehead painting, Touhu and egg painting on Dragon Boat Festival also attracted many residents to join in.

In the activity, neighbors made rice dumpling together, baked sweet cakes in the bakery class, combining creative festival bouquets in the floriculture class, and crotched cute knit rice dumpling and tuck bag for duck eggs in Resident Workshop. Graceland was full of festival atmosphere.

Graceland Dragon Boat Festival activities will last from June 7th to 9th. There are many folk activities every day. Residents could have a holiday with vitality and culture.

Pine Care Yada (Wuzhen) Elderly Center organized a special Dragon Boat Race on land for the elderly. With the help of nurses, the elderly made their own “Dragon Boat” by paper card. There were two ping-pang ball on each boat. The elderly dragged their own boat steadily forward by kite line to ensure ball in the boat on the whole way. The winner would be the first boat to the finishing line. Then, the elderly made rice dumplings together and weaved color hand straps as the symbol of health, having an exciting and interesting Dragon Boat Festival together.
