Double Ninth Festival Poem Society Eulogizes Yangxian New Landscape

On the day of Double Ninth Festival, Poetic Pottery Capital Yangxian Xishan Double Ninth Festival Cultural Fair was held. Participants climbed up onto Dongpo Pavilion, enjoyed the view of Yangxian Lake, and eulogized new landscape of Yangxian by literature. Mr. Bi Shixiong, 79-year-old, consultant of Jingxi Poetry Club created a poem for the Fair, describing the nature and stories.

In this National Day holiday, Yangxian Xishan, Dongpo Pavilion, Lakeside Park and Qinglong Mountain Ecological Park besides Yangxian Lake became popular places for citizens to enjoy cultural environment.

Poetic Pottery Capital Yangxian Xishan Double Ninth Festival Cultural Fair was sponsored by Yada Health Ecological Park and Yixing Urban Construction & Cultural Tourism Group, and undertaken by Yixing Tourism & Cultural Creation Media Company, Yixing Reciting Artist Association, Poetry Committee of Yixing Writers’ Union and Jingxi Poetry Club. General Manager of Yada Health Ecological Park Mr. Liu Naifa said, Yangxian Xishan project respected the eco-environment protection and integrated excellent natural resources, namely mountains, tea farm, bamboo forest, waters, into the overall plan in the phase of planning. Dongpo pavilion, standing on the mountain, is the local landmark building. In Dongpo Pavilion, tourists could have a good view sight for its height and enjoy the whole scenery of Yangxian Lake.

Under the theme of Poetic Yangxian Xishan and Warm Double Ninth Festival, the event combined pottery-themed life elements of Yixing through all activities, namely poem, writing, painting, zither, art and tea. It contained various kinds of performances such as collecting poem-creation inspirations, Chinese zither playing, calligraphy and painting creation, Pintan singing and tea art performance. Vice Chairman of Yixing Writers’ Union Mr. Fan Shuangxi called upon poets to merge the landscape of Yangxian Xishan into their works from the view of poem creation based on nature and culture there. Yixing literature and history expert Mr. Ye Jusen gave a speech lecture named Su Dongpo and Yixing on the relationship between Mr. Su and Yixing city at last. Head of Wuxi Pingtan Regiment Mr. Gu Guoliang gave an improvisation named Yangxian Xishan. With the accompaniment of Chinese zither by music master Ms. Luo Shuping, Yixing Association of Elocutionist members Mr. Gu Chenghui and Ms. Zhu Lan recited the poem “High Tower - Yada Dongpo Pavilion” created by local old poet Mr. Bi Shixiong.

According to Ms. Xu Wenxia, General Manager of Yixing Urban Construction & Cultural Tourism Group, Yixing is composed of 30% mountains, 20% waters and 50% farmland. Its mountains in the south is the green treasure of the city. In the sense, a serial of extensive culture & tourism comprehensive projects including Yangxian Xishan would offer multiple functions to counties of Yixing and modern life. Yixing will become one of key gardens of Shanghai, Nanjing and Hangzhou.

Lakeside Park, lying on the south side of Yangxian Lake, was open last year. It contains leisure, recreation, eco-tourism, grass, forest, lakeside games and housing functional zones. There are roads for bicycling, jogging and climbing. The Park has two themed plantation exhibitions, spring and autumn.
