Electronic Certificate of Medical Insurance Goes Online

On November 25th, National Medical Insurance Bureau announced that the electronic medical insurance certificate has been launched. Citizens may log in to the national health insurance APP or Alipay to activate the account. The electronic medical insurance certificate could be used directly at hospitals and pharmacies for drug purchase settlement, which is safe and reliable. Currently, the first 7 provinces (Hebei, Jilin, Heilongjiang, Shanghai, Fujian, Shandong and Guangdong) are available, including 20 cities such as Jinan, Fuzhou and Xiamen. In the future, it will be extended to the whole country and cross-province medical treatment will be realized.
