Exhibition of Xu Xiutang’s Works Ended Successfully at Yada Cultural & Art Center

The Dwelling of the Heart – Exhibition of Xu Xiutang’s Works, sponsored by Propaganda Department of the CPC Yixing Municipal Committee & Yada Health Ecological Park and hosted by Yixing Yada Real Estate Company & Yixing Chang Le Hong Ceramics Company, called a formal end on December 15th.

The Exhibition is the first event of Yada Culture & Art Center after completion, also the first personal painting and calligraphy exhibition of Master Xu Xiutang. It displays 58 pieces of works in total. Since its opening on September 15th, the Exhibition has attracted nearly 4,000 visitors to appreciate Mr. Xu’s art of painting & calligraphy and feel the glamour of traditional culture in the landscape of lakes and mountains as well as the dwelling space at Yada Yangxian Xishan.

The Exhibition has been greatly supported by the CPC Yixing Municipal Committee and Municipal Government. Secretary of the CPC Yixing Municipal Committee Mr. Shen Jian, Yixing Municipal Committee, Municipal Propaganda Minister and Deputy Mayor Mr. Chu Hongbiao, Chairman of Yada International Mr. Jiang Jianning, Chinese Craft Master Mr. Xu Xiutang and other leaders, distinguished guests as well as social celebrities attended the Opening Ceremony on September 15th.

Besides local visitors, celebrities such as well-known artist Mr. Han Tianheng, famous voice actor Mr. Qiao Zhen and celebrated writer Mr. Ge FEI, teachers also made their presence. In addition, the exhibition drew attention and visits from institutions including China Academy of Art and Wuxi Institute of Arts and Technology, as well as many loyal fans of painting and purple sands.Mr. Xu’s works strongly resonate with the audience and trigger their thinking on “Original Heart”. The Exhibition has been covered by many media including Tecent News, Yidian of Sohu and Yixing Media Integration Center.

Mr. Xu Xiutang is Chinese Craft Master, Inheritor of National Intangible Cultural Heritage and Great Master of Purple Sands Sculpture. His skills in pot-making and graving is subtle. He knows about the history of the capital of pottery very well and quite a bit about the local & pottery culture in Yixing. Through the beautiful, free and easy paintings and calligraphies, he established his own style of art. Based on the background of Yangxian Xishan, Master Xu created works elaborately for the Exhibition by integrating Dongpo culture as connotation and focusing on the theme of “Staying True to the Original Aspiration”. These works adopt multiple styles and have distinct themes with experienced skills and bold personality. With strong visual impact and spiritual shock, they reflect profound cultural foundation and positive spirituality of Master Xu.

Long heard of good reputation of Yangxian Xishan, the dwelling of the original aspiration is the true home for heart. According to Master Xu, “the original aspiration means the starting point. A work should express the original aspiration that is the foundation and source of your creation. Back to the context, back to the culture, only if finding the connection to the culture, the purpose of creation could be achieved. ” With such original aspiration, Master Xu donated Dongpo sculpture to Yada. It was specially created for this Exhibition. It has become a testimony of original aspiration of Dongpo, Master Xu and Yada Yangxian Xishan.

Exhibition of Xu Xiutang’s Works is the first event held at Yada Culture & Art Center. In the future, there will be more cultural and artists events here jointly held by Yada, artists and cultural celebrities home and abroad, contributing more artistic aesthetic feelings and spiritual pleasure to Yada Yangxian Xishan.
