New Coronavirus Listed as Public Health Emergency Travel Restriction Measures Not Recommended

In the early morning of January 31 Beijing Time, the World Health Organization announced that it would list the new coronavirus as a public health emergency of international concern.


Mr. Tan Desai, Director General of the World Health Organization, announced that the new coronavirus epidemic would be listed as a public health emergency of international concern, mainly based on the fact that the number of infected people in China had increased and outbreaks had occurred in many countries.


Mr. Tan Desai stressed that there was no need to take measures to restrict the flow of international personnel, and WHO did not recommend measures to restrict travel.
