Statistical Bulletin for China’s Health Care Development in 2019 Released

The Statistical Bulletin for China’s Health Care Development in 2019 has recently been released by National Health Commission. The data shows that the average life expectancy of Chinese residents has increased from 77.0 years in 2018 to 77.3 years in 2019. It also shows that at the end of 2019, the total number of medical and health institutions nationwide has reached 100,7545, with 8.807 million beds, and the number of beds per 1,000 population increased from 6.03 in 2018 to 6.30 in 2019. At the end of 2019, the total number of health personnel nationwide reached 12.928 million, 2.77 practicing (assistant) physicians per 1,000 population, and 3.18 registered nurses per 1,000 population. The total national health expenditure in 2019 is expected to reach 6519.59 billion yuan, and the total per capita health expenditure is 4656.7 yuan.
