Yada Academy Year-end Special Lecture Successfully Held

On December 26th, Yada Academy Year-end Special Lecture was held at Yixing Yada Art & Culture Center. Famous economist Dr. Qiu Xiaohua, based on macroeconomics, explained and analyzed China’s economy in all directions with the theme of “Waiting for Blooms in Spring after Winter – Review and Outlook of China’s Economy” to summarize 2020 and forecast 2021.

Dr. Qiu Xiaohua reviewed the past year by a series of statistics. In virtue of distinct institutional strengths and solid material basis, China won the anti-epidemic war and economic recovery war. China positively coped with complicated challenges arising from politics and economy home and abroad, as well as realized 2% positive growth in economy yearly, which made China the only country with positive economic growth among the world's big economies.

In Dr. Qiu’s opinion, the economic situation of China in 2021 would tend to be positive overall. The low-lying land formed by the epidemic was expected not only to be filled up and made even, but also possibly to be surpassed. The domestic demand would be the key support to the economy. Consumption would be recovered back to normal and become the main power to propel economic recovery. Investment would also be in a sustainable and steady growth. The Sino-US relations would thaw periodically. Overseas economy would recover and the export demand would increase. The RMB exchange rate would keep strong till the first half year of 2021. The rise of CPI would rebound on a year-on-year basis. PPI would moderately move to reflation from deflation. Modernization construction in China would enter into a new phase, in which, industrial upgrading and scientific & technological innovation would bring new opportunities. We should adapt to new trend and grasp new investment opportunities.

The Lecture lasted two and a half hours. Nearly 400 audience listened to the Lecture attentively. During the interactive phase of the Lecture, Dr. Qiu answered questions from the audience on GDP statistics, commodity futures and investment & finance.
