Elderly Population of China Reaches 264 Million​

On May 11th, National Bureau of Statistics released the 7th nationalwide census data. According to the data, the total population in China reaches 1.41178 billion with annual growth rate of 0.53%. The growth speed is slowing down. In the term of age distribution, the proportion of the population who are older than 60 years old is 18.7% with 264.02 million. The population who are over 65 years old reaches 190.64 million, 13.5% of the total population.
