Yada Academy Held the Special Lecture Successfully

On the afternoon of July 3rd, Yada Academy Special Lecture was held at the Culture & Art Center of Yada Yangxian Xishan in Yixing. Mr. Bai Yansheng, the former CCTV host and the spokesman of Chinese TV Traditional Opera, gave a speech under the theme of Aesthetics Lights up the Life. He shared his understanding on aesthetics and life with more than 300 audience present.

During the event, Mr. Bai Yansheng firstly talked about his deep friendship with the academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering Mr. Cheng Tianmin who was born in Yixing. He said, the academician Mr. Cheng Tianmin was not only a great scientist, but also a traditional opera fan who had deep understanding on the art. As Mr. Cheng said, “Although they belong to different fields, science and art are congenetic and interlinked. It is good for cultivating the mind that combining them into one.” Mr. Bai quoted this sentence to explain the profound meaning of art to science.

In the following, Mr. Bai shared some details of life from his 30-years career, and analyzed the current aesthetics flaw from the aspects of commodity packaging, architecture design, photography and poster. In his opinion, it was  from learning traditional Chinese culture and understanding the truthfulness, kindness and beauty that cultivated Chinese featured aesthetics background and nourished Chinese spirit.

From “Again spring wind blows Jiangnan green” by Mr. Wang Anshi to “A red almond rises above the wall” by Mr. Ye Shaoweng, and to Chinese style songs with Mr. Fang Wenshan’s lyrics and sang by Mr. Jay Chou, Mr. Bai Yansheng took the well-known poems and songs as example to demonstrate the beauty of Chinese traditional colors and artistic conception. In his opinion, traditional colors created high-class beauty, high-class beauty brought up the sense of pride, and the sense of pride could generate patriotism.

Talking about the great works of art masters in China and abroad, Mr. Bai elaboraed the edification of art to human nature, and further proved how aesthetics lighted up the life. The traditional opera master Ms. Pei Yanling frankly said “I do not know” facing with the TV camera. That displayed the reality and purity of art. The conductor Mr. Hu Bingxu took care of his girlfriend when she was suffering from terminal illness, attesting the purity and preciousness of love till the last second of life. Strings of Life by Mr. Shi Tiesheng and Inquiry of Life by Mr. Zhang Haidi delivered the power and hope of life. All of them inspired us that the highest state of aesthetics was human nature. Only truthfulness could nourish kindness and beauty. Only truthfulness, kindness and beauty could light up the life.

As a versatile traditional opera host, Mr. Bai Yansheng also talked about Wuxi Opera that was beloved by Yixing residents. He shared a selection of Wuxi Opera Pearl Tower sang by him. The audience were deeply moved by his performance and gave burst of applause.

During the lecture, Mr. Bai also shared his own video of Yangxian Xishan to express his love. He said, as the summit point of Yangxian Xishan, Dongpo Pavilion was not only a building, but also a kind of spiritual ballast. Yada Academy was such a place to nourish mind and soul and share culture and art. It led residents to a poetic spiritual life.

After the Lecture, Mr. Bai had a warm interaction and exchange with the audience. He expected that even the life was full of anxiety, we could go to the theater to watch a good opera, find the sensation of life from it, fall in love with art and learn to aesthetics in order to make the life colorful and nourish mind and soul.
