Before being recorded, Yixing cuisine had developed for hundreds of years in Yixing.

Adjacent to Taihu Lake, Yixing is surrounded by mountains at three sides. It has the name of thirty percent mountain, twenty percent water and fifty percent farm.

Villages near Taihu Lake in Yixing is called "Dushang". The land of Dushang is nourished by Taihu Lake and becomes the well-know evening tide farm that is suitable for agriculture with high quality agricultural products.

Yixing cuisine uses material grown up in the beautiful landscape of Yangxian, cooked in the averaged kitchen and displayed on fine ceramic wares of Taodu. In virtue of the history, it has its own flavor.

Today, it has officially opened at Town Center.

Yixing Cuisine Restaurant has the total floor area of 2000㎡. As one of the major food and beverage stores at the Town Center, it locates at the Central Plaza with the most visitor flow.

The restaurant displays the local food culture according to the ancient street scenery, culture and stories and beautiful utensil from the ancient to today. It is both a vivid museum and a theme restaurant full of local flavor.

The restaurant has two floors. On the first floor, there is a hall for catering with abundant displays that introduces the history, famous dishes, traditional utensil of Yixing Cuisine. Visitors could have a taste in Yixing Featured Snack Experience area.

At the entrance of the restaurant, the LED is showing Hundred Scenes Picture of Jiao Bridge that recorded Yixing old street scenery in Republic of China.

The painting displays daily and full life, reflecting Yixing residents' relaxed living pattern.In the hall, there are Eight Interests Pictures recording Yixing's custom and displaying the daily life of Yixing residents.

The exhibition shows utensils from the simple bud ceramic bowls at west Zhou period to pickle jars for 80s and 90s. There are colored ceramic pots of modern days.

The pot excavated from Camel Mound was made in 7300 years ago. The shape is very like hot pot.

These utensil do not only record the daily life of residents, but also form the evolution history of human's cooking methods.

The second floor is used for catering with a La Cart Dinner area and five boxes.

The restaurant explores stories of ancient scholars and Yixing flavors. Each box has its own theme and story.

Food culture comes from the flavor passing down generation to generation.

Yixing, locating at the crossing point of Zhejiang, Jiangsu and Anhui, has large flowing population. Here mixes the food cultures of the three provinces and forms its local flavor.
