3rd Session of Xishan Leading Reader Program Held Successfully

On the afternoon of July 29th, 3rd Session of Xishan Leading Reader Program jointly organized by Yada Academy and Human Resources & Administration Department was held at Yada Life Bookstore of Yada Yangxian Xishan. The activity invited the champion in three Paralympic Games Ms. Tan Yanhua to lead reading You Will Be Certain to Thank the Hell-bent Yourself in the Future by Ms. Chen Bai, and share her story behind the Paralympic Games champion and her Olympic Spirit. Both the Project staff and residents attended the activity.



Ms. Tan Yanhua started to play for the national women’s sitting volleyball team in 2002. She won the champion of the women’s sitting volleyball for three times, respectively in 2004 Athens Paralympic Games, 2008 Beijing and 2012 London. She was awarded the National Advanced Individual by the State Council and enjoyed the National Model Workers treatment. She was also the winner of National Labor Medal, National March 8th Red Flag Bearer, National May 4th Youth Special Contribution Award, Model Worker of Jiangsu Province, Jiangsu March 8th Red Flag Bearer and Jiangsu Pace-setter in the New Long March.



In 2012, Ms. Tan Yanhua retired from the national team and returned back to her hometown Yixing. She started to learn pottery design and production at Master Mr. Gu Shaopei’s studio. At the beginning of 2017, she founded “Guanyi Chunhua” purple sands studio.



From a champion of Paralympic Games to a craftsman of purple sands, Ms. Tan was always so tenacious and struggling like an athlete. On Ms. Chen Bai’s book, she said, the book was full of positive energy bring about power and motivation. It made readers to understand how to plan the life and restrain the impetuous mind. One could be successful only bearing the loneliness, solitude and silent times when he/she made frantic attempts. Just as the book said, “nobody could give you the life you want if you do not try.”


At the activity, Ms. Tan Yanhua reviewed her athletic career as well as her growth process. Hard childhood made her understand that nothing could change her fate except her hands. From Jiangsu provincial team to the national team, she kept strengthening her will by hard training. Every score in the Olympic Games was from cumulative training and unyielding determination. Flowers and applause for the champion was because of daily hard training and mentality exercise.



The audience also had exchange with Ms. Tan Yanhua. They admired her efforts and hoped Yada staff to adhere to the same spirit and make an extraordinary career at the ordinary post.



Xishan Leading Reader Program by Yada Academy aims to create a reading atmosphere at Yangxian Xishan, and courage the residents to join in reading. At the same time, the leading reader could bring the audience rich and diversified life experience and inspiration by sharing. This time, the activity was held during Tokyo Olympic Games. The exchange with an Olympic champion gave the residents and staff an opportunity to learn an athlete life and feel the charm and value of competitive sports.
