Beijing Launches Time Bank Aged-care Model

Beijing Civil Affairs Bureau together with the Municipal Finance Bureau and the Youth League Municipal Committee, jointly issued the "Beijing Elderly Service Time Bank Implementation Plan (Trial)", which will be implemented on June 1. According to the Plan, volunteers accumulate "time coins" by providing volunteer service time for the elderly. One hour of volunteer service can be exchanged for one time coin. "Time Coins" can be exchanged for related elderly care services. 10,000 coins means the right to access the public elderly care institutions. Time coins can be exchanged for use after the person in 60, and can also be given to immediate family members. Time coins cannot be exchanged for funds or in kind.
