Excessive Diagnosis and Treatment Will be Punished in the New Physician Law

The new Physician Law has come into effect on March 1st, 2022. If a physician over-examine or over-diagnose in the medical activities, there is no clear penalty in the past. After the implementation of the new Physician Law, if a physician violates the diagnosis & treatment norms and conducts unnecessary examinations & treatments on patients, causing adverse consequences, they will be subject to a warning, confiscation of illegal gains, and a fine of not less than 10,000 yuan but not more than 30,000 yuan. If the circumstance is serious, the physician will be ordered to suspend practice activities for more than six months but less than one year, or even be revoked the practice certificate.
