Reading Lights Life - Yada Parks Held World Book and Copyright Day Activity

On April 23rd, the 28th World Book and Copyright Day, Wuzhen Yada International Health Ecological Park and Yixing Yada Health Ecological Park held book exchange activities respectively, Participants read masterpieces and felt the beauty of life in spring together.

Wuzhen Graceland, the residential zone of Wuzhen Park, organized a “Spring Reading Party”. The Activity was launched by Graceland Poem Recitation Club. It gathered residents who loved reading at Yada Life Bookstore, performing highlights of masterpieces, reciting beautiful poems and proses, and spending a literary holiday together.

The Activity began with the performance of a clip of drama 72 Tenants. Club members’ performance was so meticulous that the audience were absorbed totally. After it, Graceland residents recited poems to praise the homeland and life, pushing the atmosphere to a new high.

At Yixing Park, Yada Academy, Xishan Culture Volunteer Union and Ji Ya Calligraphy & Painting Club held a theme activity “Recite the Spring for You” together. Members recited poems on spring and talked about their feeling, spending a poetic spring day.

The Book and Copyright Day was also the date on which British playwright and poet Mr. Shakespeare was born and passed away. Mr. Kong Jie, the resident of Yangxian Xishan and China Beijing TV Station, recited the Sonnet XVIII of Mr. Shakespeare and The Road Not Taken by Robert Frost in English. He talked about his reading feeling and life experience. Ms. Wang Jinsheng, the daughter of Jinghu (Beijing opera fiddle) master Mr. Wang Benzhen, donated her books Soul of Qin and Enlightenment of Beijing Opera, and recited poems of her own. She also shared her story on promoting Beijing Opera. Ji Ya Calligraphy & Painting Club created hand-painting bags as gifts to readers who bought books. On the bags, they drew the spring landscape and life at Yangxian Xishan.

The Activity on Book and Copyright Day is one of classic cultural activities at Yada Parks. It aims to promote public reading and introduce literature into Parks to décor the life, deliver warmth among neighbors via culture sharing, and improve the establishment and development of a harmonious community.
