Chairman Mr. Jiang Jianning Takes Survey in Wuxi

The Chairman of YaDa International Mr. Jiang Jianning paid a visit to Wuxi from May 21 to May 22. Accompanied by the President of Wuzhen Tourist Co., Ltd Mr. Chen Xianghong and senior government officials from Beitang and Xishan Districts of Wuxi, Mr. Jiang Jianning visited two ancient towns namely Huishan and Dangkou. After learning of two towns’ overall introductions and developing plans, he gave constructive comments on the scenic spots’ future construction and operation.

Mr. Jiang Jianning stated that, the success of Wuzhen’s tourism mode made it a popular sample for other ancient towns in Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces to follow. As the tourist number visiting ancient towns grew year by year, however, some problems happened in the meanwhile, e.g. the contradiction between development and protection, the disrelation of the ancient town’s status quo to the tourism orientation, the violation between scenic planning and architectural style and the gap incurred between input and output. It was suggested that the tourism development of ancient towns should follow the market rules and the tourism features. Along with inheriting the unique history, culture and traditions of ancient town, the scientific utilization of local resources and efficient operating measures were indispensable to lead a long-term tourism mode that balanced the demand for protection and development and built up a virtuous circle between input and output.
