Annual Special Lecture of Yada Academy Held Successfully

On December 28th, Yada Academy held the Annual Special Lecture at the Culture & Art Center of Yixing Yada Yangxian Xishan. Secretary of the CPC Yixing Municipal Committee Mr. Shen Jian, Chairman of Yada Mr. Jiang Jianning, Director of Yixing NPC Mr. Liu Yamin, Chairman of Yixing CPPCC Mr. Mei Zhonghua and other more than 400 honored guests attended the activity. This activity was hosted by Yada Academy and co-organized by Yixing Entrepreneur Society.

The Lecture was hosted by joint founder of Yada Academy Mr. Yang Kui. First of all, he, on behalf of Chairman Mr. Jiang Jianning and Yada, expressed gratitude to Yixing Municipal Party Committee, Yixing Municipal Government, the related towns, counties and functional departments for their great support since the settlement of Yada Project in Yixing in past two years. He also said on behalf of Chairman Mr. Jiang Jianning that, not only investing in Yixing, Yada would take root in Yixing, fully incorporate into Yixing,  become an outstanding corporate citizen to fulfill more corporate social responsibilities as well as make more contribution for the city’s economic development, talent introduction, culture prosperity and educational progress.

Mr. Yang Kui gave a brief introduction on Yada Academy. In last year, it organized Wuzhen Cultural Lecture Room that held wonderful lectures given by domestic and overseas celebrities like Mr. Bai Yansong, Ms. Wang Xiaoya, Mr. Fram Kitagawa and Mr. Chen Xiaoqing. In 2019, it launched Yada Academy series Cultural Lectures & Talks. Winner of Mao Dun Literature Awards Mr. Ge Fei gave the first lecture. Later, it will invite more cultural celebrities home and abroad to give more than 10 high-end cultural talks every year.

The latest program – Yada Academy Annual Special Lecture – will invite one distinguished person to give a significant speech every year. In 2019, it invited the economist Dr. Qiu Xiaohua to make a speech named “China’s Economy under World’s Thorough Changes - Glancing Back at 2019 and Looking into 2020”.

Dr. Qiu Xiaohua is one of the senior experts in the field of economic reform and development. He has published many books and been honored as Mr. Data of China with high reputation in China’s macro economy and comprehensive statistics. In the speech, he said, China is facing with a change that it never encounters in a century. With the arrival of new industrial revolution, main economies in the world are competing fiercely surrounding the new industrial revolution to take the high ground. The geopolitics is accelerating its evolution. Competition and contest between big countries are intense. The economic globalization is on the way.  With stronger fight for game rules determination, changes in economic development patterns will be brought out then.

In the speech

China has stepped into modernization stage. The key points for its economy development have turned from high speed to high quality development, from high investment to high technology, from high differentiation to high harmony, from high pollution to environment recovery, and from low income to high income. During the modernization construction, China must face with problems including aging society, increasing market excess and aggravating debt burden.

However, the overall development trend of China’s economy is urban agglomeration construction will be the key point of city-industry integration; new economy will act as the main force for industrial development; consumption economy plays an important role in boosting domestic demand, in which the service industry grows fastest with largest market scale; transnational economy emerges and the scale escalates.

Attentive Audience

Changes trigger transformation. Glancing back at 2019, according to Dr. Qiu Xiaohua, only the economy performance of the first quarter exceeded expectation. The following three quarters experienced year-on-year decrease. Although the annual objective tended to decline, it basically realized. The reason for pessimistic economic index in the last three quarters was China-US trade war. The manufacturing industry was most impacted by it.

Looking into 2020, there are three clear market directions: shifting in growth drivers, moving down of bond interest rate center and increasing of government bond issuance. By taking consumption shift, investment situation, real estate market change, government power, CPI, PPI, financial policies, currency policies into consideration, Dr. Qiu Xiaohua made a forecast of 2020 economic development trend focusing on the three market directions.

During the speech, Dr. Qiu Xiaohua repeated that, the world’s changes are offering China opportunities but also challenges, both of which are unprecedented. We should have a clear understanding to seize opportunities and face with challenges. As long as we efficiently fulfill our duties in a timely manner with clear target, China will not encounter failure in the change and will usher a new dawn during development, which has been a social consensus.

After the speech, Dr. Qiu Xiaohua during the interaction with audience answered several questions in the topics of how a company faces with challenges, how finance authorities face with new trends and how investors make decisions in the New Year.
