Three Departments Jointly Announce Nine New Occupations including Elderly Ability Appraiser

According to Ministry of Human Resources & Social Security, General Administration of Market Supervision and National Bureau of Statistics, nine new occupations, including "Elderly Ability Appraiser" has benn issued to the public. According to the definition issued by Ministry of Civil Affairs, the “Elderly Ability Appraiser” refers to person who could provide health condition assessment such as life activity ability, cognitive ability, and mental state for the elderly in need. The main tasks include collecting and recording the basic information and health status of the elderly; evaluating the elderly's daily life activities; measuring and evaluating the elderly's cognitive ability, mental state, perception & communication ability, and social participation ability; based on measurement and evaluation, determine the elderly ability level; giving out the comprehensive assessment report on the ability of the elderly and recommendations for their ability recovery.
