NDRC: Elderly Assisted Catering Service Should Cover Over 80% Communities in the Next Five Years

Recently, the 14th Five-Year Plan for Urban and Rural Community Service System Construction was officially issued. Mr. Ou Xiaoli, Social Development DepartmentDirector of the National Development and Reform Commission, said that China will vigorously develop community catering, cleaning, bath, medical and other assistance services to meet the daily needs of people with special difficulties such as empty nesters, left-behind, elderly and severely disabled ones.  In the next five years, the elderly assisted catering service in big cities will gradually cover more than 80% of the communities, and the monthly visiting rate of the elderly with special difficulties will reach 100%.
